Whenever I visit my dad’s grave, I am surrounded by the sound of Mourning Doves. It’s like they congregate to sing dirges(funeral songs) to sing over the departed. And thinking about mourning doves and dirges had me thinking about the Lamentations that we sing Friday night before Holy Saturday.
